Hi, I’m Alicia Thomas.

I started this website to talk about encouraging black women to find their voice, use it positively, and share their stories as well as those of other successful black women. We have been silenced by family and society. I am encouraging myself and you to continuously learn and apply the knowledge to improve yourself and your community. If blogs are not your jam, I also have a newsletter that is sent out each week .

You can find me elsewhere on Threads Twitter and Instagram.

How This Website Will Benefit You

I’m an advocate for useful ideas. I am an advocate knowing your history. The central question I explore through my work is, “How can we use our voices for good?”

In other words, I want to find great women and encourage them to find their voice and use it in a way that empowers them as well as the communities they serve (starting first at home).

My writing focuses on topics like…

  • How to set (and maintain) core values

  • How to make good choices and learn not self incriminate from bad ones

  • How to learn more about black history. (It doesn’t start with slavery.)

  • How to document personal history telling the truth that leaves valuable lessons for future generations

Most of the concepts I write about aren’t my own. I have learned that it is okay to steal like an artist. These ideas come from many hours of reading and research. I consider it an honor to find, learn, and apply ideas. I share them in a way that is real, relevant, relatable, and easy to understand.

Learn to leave a legacy through stories and speaking truth with power.

I don’t claim to have all the answers and I learning every day. , I am happy to share what I’ve discovered because sharing and teaching reinforce what I have learned. Hopefully, as you learn, you will be encouraged to seek knowledge for yourself.
